Back in October of 2008 I bought a house, and then in January 2009 after months of taping outlines on walls I started destroying the basement of a 1950s home to put in my dream tank. Due to the economic situation that hit in 2008 I've had some big ups and downs and absolutely missed my original water in date of October/November 2009. Alright, so I got all my auto top off parts in yesterday. I have some 1/4" acrylic and I want to cut a 2" wide strip and make two bends in it to make the bracket for the float switches. I have a propane torch that I was thinking of using to heat up the material. Would this be alright?
I've been ignoring how the pendants were hanging at an angle over the SPS vat, but it bugged me. I wanted to direct the light down into the vat and get them level, so I thought about various options. The easiest solution was to use one of the spare Vortech magnets I use when building sumps to keep the two pendants straight. Simple, free, and it works. ...
UPDATE, So here we go....., so let me just quickly post that the DIY reflectors arrived, canopy installed. Its looks amazing. Pic are coming right now........ Reflectors are little dirty. Just thought i'd do a small update and put some pics up of what I've been doing. I still have to do the electrical for the lighting; thats what is on top of canopy. How would y'all do it? I have two ballast, one power strip and three timers. Would you mount on back of canopy or in stand. I don't have quick connects.
