  1. Another question for the RO pros!

My incoming TDS is high. Extremely high. 750+ high. That being said my 4-stage does a very good job of getting it down. Usually averaging less than 30, sometimes 20. Well below the 5% accepted return. That's great for drinking water, but 20-30 TDS entering my DI is literally just exhausted a 10" BRS "Nuclear Grade" resin refill within 200 gallons. I am running this filter array:
    5 Micron Purtrex sediment filter
    5 Micron Matrikx+CTO/2
    Carbon Block
    1 Micron
    ...

  3. Midnight's 300g Build

It's been a very long time since I have updated, so this is well over due.

First things first, due to all of Melev's tank troubles I have had to work with Marineland in resolving some possible issues. As you know I was mimicking Melev's tank design but using my own dimensions. Kevin over at Marineland has been working very hard with me to ensure that all will be ok.

I did give thoughts about scrapping the whole big tank idea, But things just didn't seem proportional. ...
  4. vortech pump placement and modes

hey all, i have a 55g reef tank and im currently using a single mp10 to create the flow in my tank for a long time i used it on one end of the tank and it kinda left the other side of my tank dead, i intend to purchase antother one when i get a chance and find a good deal on one. anyways i recently moved the vortech to the back of my tank and about 6" from the surface of the water and dead center in the tank, it seems as of right now that this is the optimum placement for my tank, along with ...
  5. Equiptment Update (FINALLY!)

In my previous blogs I have mentioned that I would be upgrading my system from the crappy LED's and Sea-Clone protein skimmer that I have. Slowly but surely as of last night the new Protein Skimmer was added (although it might have been way overkill haha) but thats what you should always do with any aspect of your tanks filtration. The lights have been on for probably 2 and a half weeks now and coral growth has been ridiculous since that time. (as far as my Chalices and Acros are concerned) ...
