    some updates its been a while. i havent really changed anything but my bio pellets now they are DR Tims and im also using his waste away and eco balance and love the results. tank has been up since March so about to hit the 1 year mark. I almost went to LED but im scared i wont like the outcome and waste money, till then i will run my MH and T5. tank is 60x24x24

  3. Fungia Pays It Forward

    They say where there's water, there's life. Here's my "resurrection" coral at it again. Tiny Fungia babies popping up from the plate's skeleton. The coral was burned by a Rose BTA, and died. Leaving it be, a few months later more life emerged. Look closely and you'll see at least two new polyps forming. A twinspot Blenny looks on from the right.

  4. Three days of a Rose

    Day One:
    As I took pictures of my reef, I did so with the pumps off. When the MP60 resumed, my RBTA began to spin around and around, twisting its base. It was concerning, so I stopped the pump and tried to unwind it with my gloved hand. It began retracting into the rocks, so I left it alone before I annoyed it -- I didn't want it to split, nor to move.

  5. A much better look

    Two years ago, I was in the midst of wrapping up the construction of the new fishroom, getting it ready to set up the 400g. I did my best to keep the mess out of my livingroom with giant sheets of pink foam and plastic sheeting. The new sheetrock that faced the livingroom and dining area needed to be taped, textured and painted, but it was left unfinished.
