Basic full overview of the system
Well let me first start things by saying that I am not new in the aquarium hobby. I have been into the hobby on and off for about 6 years now and I am in the process of saving for my own home which may take about a year or two so I can't really justify starting a project on a huge reef aquarium (my ultimate goal is at minimum a 400 gallon reef aquarium). Well, I guess since this is my first entry I will tell a little about my tank. I started saltwater with a nano tank I acquired from a friend a little over a year and a half ago, it didn't take long to cycle since it was still used when i got a hold of it just far out of parameters. after about a two month cycling process I added a small CUC and a yellow tail damsel. One week later my first coral was added, a frag of green star polyps about the size of the tip of my pinkie finger, it had begun! soon ...
It's been awhile since my last post and my 180 is up and running. After 6 months im glad to finally have a few pieces of livestock in the tank. So far it consists of 4 pj's 2 firefish 4 turbo snails and 10 red leg hermit crabs. Going to be adding to the clean up crew over the next month and will wait till the tanks been running for awhile longer before I start adding any corals. After having issues with the sand I feel that i probally didnt clean it well enough before adding it to the main tank ...
And some early Scaping attempts. Needed something that would accentuate the tank deapth and have a 3D effect. Scap had to go higher from Rght to left so that viewing the tank from the RT side one would see an ascending structure with many of the corals still visible.
