  1. Auto Top Off - Vendor Experience

Some of you know me as a relative newbie... less than a year in the hobby... and that while I read RA constantly I rarely blog. I had a recent experience with a vendor that I just cant help but share with the group.

Last summer we purchased an auto top-off kit from Aquahub, assembled and installed it per the enclosed instructions and it ran flawlessly for several months. Yea! No more manual topping off the 75G display and 35G fuge! Suddenly it stopped calling for water as evidenced ...

  2. Chemi-Clean and Skimmer Cleaning

So today I decided to deal with the Cyano that started in my new frag tank that was connected to the system during the summer. I believe the initial outbreak was a combination of: 20 lbs of new sand and the new acrylic frag tank itself. It has been mentioned in a few publications that new plastic parts initially leach a few things like silicates and such into the water column. However, I can no longer find the article. I would appreciate any help that can be provided. As for me I haven't posted in a while...recently bought a new house with a office (fish-room) that I am outfitting with a 75 g reef tank, 40 g sump, 10 g gravity ATO and finally a 20 g refugium (last).I picked up a 55 gal food-quality barrel ...

  5. New addition

Picked up an APEX a little while ago and been having a grand old time playing and getting it setting set up and configured. Last night I finally got my ATO up and running. I am pretty nervous about the ATO and a possible flood. I have lots of alarms set up and so far everything is working great. Also been working on getting a webcam up and running on the tank, but have a few issues. Major one is where to mount the cam, right now it has to sit so close to the tank I dont get to see much.
