You can never get too many pictures, right? Shot tonight with a Nikon D90. Lithophyllon undulatum Candy Canes Drew's red Acropora - it's a very quiet grower in my system. Duncans. Montipora sp. ...
The newer version of the Marineland 400g came with a lowered water line than previously. The black plastic trim didn't hide it this time, and my preference is to keep that invisible. A few months ago, in anticipation of this situation, I ordered some flat black vinyl strips to apply to the tank once it was setup and running. As I mentioned previously, I didn't want to treat my tank for cyano because it makes my skimmer overflow like crazy thereafter. This is great to bond a poster or picture to to keep a nice flat presentation. Since I had it handy, I cut a 20" strip to cover the front of the tank for some pictures today. The other half was held in place with magnets on the fishroom side. Without the blue VHO lighting filling the living room and my eyes, the colors of the corals ...
Today marks the date the livestock moved into the 400g and the 60g. Sometimes people confuse that with the date the tank was started up, thinking that the necessary cycle was rushed or the livestock was simply thrust into the tank in some type of mad rush. No, two months ago all the livestock was transferred out of the 215g and my frag tank into the 400g and the 60g. The 400g had been running with sand, live rock and water for nearly four weeks before livestock was added. The sump with all the ...
