So this is the idea i had for my sump I was thinking for the refugium i would use half with a 5inchsand bed and the other half just 1 inch. the baffles after the skimmer i was planning for over under over. Ill have the return pump and the heaters in the return zone which also will hold the bio reactor. If anyone has any ideas or improvments i would be very thankful
I decided to upgrade my nano to one step up. I had a few requirements: 1. Not too big. 42 x 24 X 20 2. Had to blend into existing house and furniture. Where possible use existing items vs buy new and have it accepted by wife 3. Have the system set up to be as low maintenance and automated as possible! Today I did a bit of work, cleaned the GHA up from the bad RO water I got from a lfs (got my RO/DI unit ordered now), cleaned out my reactor and replaced my chemi-pure elite and purigen. Also grabbed a few frags from Tony (Grimreefer on DFWMAS)... of course they were more like mini-colonies. Tony always exceeds expectations... always. Really loving the tank... and I'm starting to truly run out of room. I keep saying I'm out of space, but I never truly am. I'm guessing I could fit a few more ...
As promised... This coral is one of the SPS from my last reef. A single tiny twiglet turned into this guy. The Tyree A. valida was mere polyps, and I mean a couple of dots in a dead colony. I waited and about 10 months later I was able to cut out these living parts and build-yer-own mini colony. ...
Tank has arrived: My custom 120g has finally arrived, as well as the stand and canopy. I am in the process of plumbing it and hanging the lights.
