    • 150w 14k Phoenix MH HQI + 28w Actinic
    • AquaC Remora HOB Skimmer (MaxiJet 1200) + surface skimmer
    • Vortech MP10w @60% in random reef crest mode
    • Auto top off (Aqualifter) with redundant float switches
    • 20% Water change every 2-3 weeks, RO and oceanic salt
    • ph 8.5, 0 ammonia/nitrite/nitrate
    Had a crash over winter break (Dec '10/Jan '11) -- forgot to plug in ATO, so it's getting back going again, lost everything except for the fish... added the Vortech ...

  2. Day 60 - Video

    April 6th was the 60th day since my reef was set up, so last night I shot some video, assembled it on in iMovie on my iMac, and here's the result.



    I shot it with my D90, but it seems a little soft. Over time, I'll probably need to get a better HD camera to share some crisper vids. I hope you enjoy it.

  4. L T A help

    i need some advice, today as I was doing my water change I droped a piece of eggcrate that had a frag someone gave me right into the L T A.
    I was not able to see where it went at first, then a few hours later I was able to see a section of white sticking out of the mouth.
    what if any can i do

  5. Suggestings on making a Metal Halide for my 75 gal.

    I have been looking pretty heavily at making my own lighting for a new 75 gallon tank I just got. I'm debating whether to make an LED fixture or use MH lamps. I am wondering what the light output need would be for a standard sized 75 gallon (I realize LED and MH are different so whichever you guys know more about, please fill me in!). I would like to ensure that I can care for SPS corals adequately (the tank is 21" deep). Also, I am planning on hanging them 6 - 8 inches above the tank if ...
